The carcass of a famous humpback whale, stranded in the Baltic Sea, has been moved to a Danish beach for an autopsy to uncover the cause of death, ending months of rescue efforts.

A humpback whale, affectionately known as 'Timmy' and 'Hope' by Germans, was towed onto a Danish beach after lingering in shallow waters for two weeks. The marine mammal had captured public attention due to its repeated beaching in the Baltic Sea.
Discovered off Anholt island on May 14, the whale was the focus of a rescue operation that concluded unsuccessfully earlier this month. The Danish Environmental Protection Agency plans to conduct an autopsy next week to understand the circumstances around its death.
