Odisha claimed victory in the girls' kho-kho final at the Khelo India Youth Games on Friday, stunning the favored Maharashtra team. Swimmer Aditi Satish Hegde further distinguished herself by securing a seventh medal with her performance in the 1500m freestyle event.
The sporting event, hosted at the BIPARD Sports Complex in Gaya, also saw Karnataka's swimmers shine through, particularly Arjun Singh from Haryana who emerged as the fastest swimmer with two sprint golds. Meanwhile, Bihar bolstered its medal count, achieving a bronze in the 10m air rifle mixed team category.
Despite a setback in the girls' sepaktakraw Regu final loss to Manipur, Bihar holds a place in the competition, though Maharashtra's relentless pursuit continues to dominate the top of the leaderboard. With strategic wins in kho-kho and swimming, Karnataka surpassed Rajasthan for the second spot.
