India's wrestling prowess was on full display as the men's freestyle team emerged as the outright champions at the U23 Asian Wrestling Championships. The Indian contingent concluded the event with a remarkable total of 27 medals, featuring top performances from various categories.

The freestyle team dominated the competition, securing the championship trophy ahead of other wrestling giants such as Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. They amassed nine medals, including four golds, three silvers, and two bronzes. Leading the charge were Akshay T Dhere and Vicky, both clinching gold, inspiring further victories from Kumar Mohit and Chandermohan.

India's women wrestlers were equally impressive, securing ten medals with six of them as gold. Muskan and her fellow grapplers showcased stellar performances, cementing India's strength in women's wrestling. The Greco-Roman squad also made significant contributions, adding eight medals to India's tally, highlighted by Sumit's gold in the 63kg category.

WFI President Sanjay Singh acknowledged the team's historic achievement, noting their resolve and technique in surpassing notable wrestling nations, making it a proud moment for India.
