Authorities in Bhopal have launched an investigation following a surprising incident where an effigy of Ravana was set on fire in the Bagh Mugalia-Ashima Mall area. The act took place on Thursday morning and was reportedly committed by two unidentified people.
The incident gained attention after a video of the burning effigy went viral on social media. Witnesses claim that the duo, allegedly under the influence, arrived in a red car without a registration plate and fled after setting the effigy ablaze.
A formal complaint was filed by Aditya Ram Dube, the president of the Pandit Atal Bihari Vajpayee Utsav Samiti, leading to the registration of an FIR. The police cited deliberate actions aimed at offending religious sentiments, a serious offense under the Indian legal code.
