Tragedy Strikes Mandi: Torrential Rains Cause Fatalities and Destruction

In a tragic turn of events, heavy rains claimed three lives and left one woman missing in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, on Monday night. Officials reported that a flood-like situation has resulted in extensive damage across the district.

District Commissioner Apoorv Devgan stated, "The area near Jail Road is severely affected. We have initiated search operations with the police, NDRF, and Home Guard teams while commencing road clearance efforts. Vehicles are piling up, and many homes are damaged."

A relief camp has been established at Vipasha Sadan as multiple landslides block roads and disrupt traffic. The incessant rains have also led to flooding around Zonal Hospital Mandi, further exacerbating the crisis. The State Disaster Management Authority reports continued roadblocks and power disruptions statewide.
