In a significant development for religious tourism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting Sitamarhi district in Bihar today. Shah will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Janaki Mandir, located at Punaura Dham, believed to be the birthplace of Maa Sita.
On the eve of the event, Shah took to social media to express the significance of the day for Mithilanchal and the nation. He highlighted the comprehensive development plan for Punaura Dham Temple. Additionally, the inauguration of the Sitamarhi-Delhi Amrit Bharat Train, aimed at improving connectivity for devotees, has been approved.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan praised the initiative, calling it a realization of a long-held dream which promises to enhance Bihar's religious tourism and economic development. Comparing it to the development in Ayodhya following the Ram temple's construction, Paswan believes this project is a historic step for Bihar's progress.
