VD Satheesan, the Chief Minister Designate of Keralam, has called for political unity with his predecessor, Pinarayi Vijayan. In a recent meeting at Vijayan's residence in Thiruvananthapuram, Satheesan acknowledged Vijayan's seniority in Keralam politics and expressed a desire for cooperation beyond party lines.
Highlighting the importance of consistency in governance, Satheesan assured that ongoing development projects would not be halted, emphasizing their role as extensions of previous governments' initiatives. He argued against the discontinuation of earlier projects, underlining the need for uninterrupted progress in Keralam.
Officially named as the next Chief Minister following UDF's significant victory in the 2026 elections, Satheesan is set to take his oath on May 18. His leadership secured 102 out of 140 seats, ending LDF's long-standing control. A seasoned politician, Satheesan clinched his sixth consecutive victory from the Paravur constituency, maintaining a career spanning 25 years in Keralam's political landscape.
