Jammu city descended into chaos late Thursday evening as sounds resembling explosions were reported. Officials confirmed that Pakistani drones were spotted near the highly secure airport zone, raising alarms across the region.
The situation remains tense as it is unclear whether the airport, which is home to an Indian Air Force station, is directly under threat. The city was plunged into darkness, with electricity cut shortly after two loud explosions were heard surrounding the airport area.
Security forces responded promptly by implementing counter-measures that successfully brought down several Pakistani drones. Witnesses reported seeing one of the drones fall outside the airport perimeter, signaling a critical security breach.
