The Punjab Police announced a major breakthrough on Monday, having dismantled a transnational terror-gangster nexus. Two key operatives, Anuraj alias Gaurav Masih and Ankush from Jalandhar, were arrested in the operation.

Authorities recovered three illegal pistols and 11 cartridges from the suspects, who were allegedly following orders from handlers based in Germany and the UAE aimed at high-profile target assassinations. The operation, which also involved seizing an unregistered motorcycle, thwarted potentially severe criminal activities.

According to Ludhiana's Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, tactical police action during a checkpoint raid led to their capture, following precise intelligence. Preliminary interrogations revealed their role in an organized crime syndicate controlled by overseas figures supplying them with high-grade weapons. The case is registered under the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
