Madras High Court Denies BJP Leader's Plea for CBI probe into Karur Stampede

The Madras High Court has dismissed a plea by BJP leader Uma Anandan seeking a CBI probe into a devastating stampede at actor-politician Vijay's rally, resulting in 41 deaths.

In her petition, Anandan suggested possible official negligence contributed to the tragedy, but the court advised her to approach the Madurai bench instead.

Additionally, a court has denied anticipatory bail for TVK official Sathish Kumar, linked to an attack on a Namakkal hospital during the rally. Kumar has been implicated in the violence, prompting him to seek judicial relief to avoid arrest.
