Amidst waterlogging chaos in Nanded, swift action by the disaster management cell and fire brigade personnel ensured the safety of residents late Wednesday night. As water discharge from Vishnupuri Dam soared to 1.80 lakh cusec, multiple low-lying regions were inundated.
Valiant efforts by the response team led to the evacuation of several residents, including families in Panchavatinagar. The authorities also deployed emergency medical services in Rahegaon, which became isolated due to the swelling Godavari river.
Currently, the situation is stabilizing with reduced water discharge and no severe rainfall, according to officials. Onground efforts continue to assist affected villagers, ensuring a return to normalcy.
