A tragic accident claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy in Pune after he became trapped inside a lift at a local housing society. The incident unfolded on Thursday at around 5 p.m. at the Ram Smruti Cooperative Society, located in the Charholi Budruk area.

Fire officials received an emergency call reporting the child being stuck in the elevator. Upon arrival, rescuers discovered the boy trapped between the third and fourth floors, with his lower body caught between the lift car and the shaft wall.

Efforts to save the child involved breaking open the lift control room door, cutting the power to halt any further lift movement, and lowering the lift to free him. Despite rushing the boy to the hospital, where he was declared dead, investigators are now focused on determining the sequence of events leading to this malfunctions.
