Thrilling Relay Race Secures U.S. Advancement Amid Controversy
The U.S. men's 4x400m relay team advanced to the World Athletics Championships final after winning a unique run-off against Kenya. Both teams had been impeded in the heats. Meanwhile, South Africa narrowly missed the final in the 4x100m, after an attempt at a solo time trial rerun was unsuccessful.

In an unprecedented rerun, the United States men's 4x400m relay team secured their place in the final of the World Athletics Championships, defeating Kenya in a compelling head-to-head race. Both teams had another chance after being obstructed during their respective heats.
The U.S. team showed remarkable improvement on Sunday morning, delivering their fastest time of the year. Despite facing hurdles, they managed to beat Kenya with a time of 2:58.58, compared to Kenya's 3:00.39, thus ensuring their place in the final.
On the other hand, South Africa faced disappointment in the 4x100m relay. Despite being granted a solo run after being impeded by Italy, their performance was not enough to qualify for the finals, missing the desired time by a narrow margin.
