Amidst relentless downpours in Maharashtra's Nanded district, more than 200 individuals remained trapped in various villages. The Indian Army has been mobilized to execute rescue operations in the flood-hit area.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Nanded, anticipating heavy rains to continue into Monday and Tuesday. District Collector Rahul Kardile confirmed the deployment of an Army unit to aid stranded villagers and coordination with neighboring Telangana's irrigation department for water discharge management.
The State Disaster Response Force successfully rescued 21 individuals on Sunday, and further rescue efforts are underway. Persistent rainfall, measuring over 65 mm in numerous circles, has increased the urgency of the operations, as some areas recorded up to 154.75 mm of rain.
